Just Cursive is a free reference for cursive letters, words, and worksheets. Each letter is shown stroke by stroke for learners and teachers. Every letterform is set in Playwrite US Trad, a traditional US school cursive close to the Zaner-Bloser style. Each of the 26 letter pages covers the capital and lowercase forms, numbered strokes, joins, common mistakes, and a free printable practice sheet. The site also has words written in cursive, alphabet and number charts, a copy-and-paste cursive text generator, and a worksheet builder. Just Cursive also sells printable cursive workbooks.
We built it because learning cursive should feel like a good afternoon at the kitchen table, not a chore. Here is a bit more about what you will find and how we make it.
Who it’s for
Maybe you have a kid who just brought home a cursive worksheet and wants to know how the capital G works. Maybe you are that kid. Maybe you learned cursive years ago, let it slide, and would like it back. Or you just need to see a name written out for a birthday card, a shop sign, or a tattoo you have been thinking about. Whoever you are, every letter page is built the same way: the shape up top, the teaching underneath, and a free practice sheet at the end.
Where the letters come from
Every letter, word, chart, and worksheet here is set in Playwrite US Trad, a traditional US school cursive designed by TypeTogether for the Playwrite project and released under the SIL Open Font License. If you went to school in the US, it will probably look familiar: it is closest to the Zaner-Bloser style most classrooms teach. Curious how D’Nealian differs? Our school styles page walks through it.
The step-by-step instructions on each letter page describe that exact letterform. We wrote them ourselves, one letter at a time, and checked every stroke against the rendered shape. If something looks off to you, we would love to hear about it.
How we keep the lights on
A few ads on the reference pages, plus optional printable workbooks if you want something bound and ready to go. The worksheet tools themselves have no ads and no limits. Make as many sheets as you like.
Names never leave your device
The worksheet builder and name tracing run entirely in your browser. Whatever you type stays on your computer or phone. We never see the names or words you enter, and we like it that way.
