Happy Thanksgiving in cursive
Happy Thanksgiving in cursive starts with two capitals that stand alone: the H and the T. Every lowercase run after them is joined, with descenders on p, p, y and g. You lift the pen eight times in all: around the H and the T, for the space, and to dot the two i's at the end.

How to write Happy Thanksgiving in cursive
Happy Thanksgiving, step by step
- H: start a little below the headline with a small wave, then slant straight down to the baseline for the left stem. Lift. Start at the headline and slant the right stem down, parallel to the first. Lift. Draw the crossbar as a flat loop around the left stem at the midline and run it right across the right stem. The capital H stands alone: lift.
- a: start fresh at the midline, at the top right of the oval. Pull left and down, round the baseline counterclockwise, close the oval at the midline, and come straight down the right side to the baseline.
- p: curve up to the midline and slant a long stem down below the baseline. Loop left at the bottom, come back up the stem, and make the bowl: a small curve to the right that closes against the stem at the baseline.
- p: the second p is the same: up to the midline, down below the baseline, loop, back up, and the bowl closing at the baseline.
- y: curve up to the midline, dip to the baseline, up again, then drop a long stem below the baseline and loop left, crossing the stem at the baseline. Lift for the space.
- T: start at the headline and slant a straight stem down to the baseline. Curve left and back up in a small hook that ends just above the baseline. Lift. Start on the left a little below the headline, curve up to it, and run a flat bar right across the top of the stem. The capital T stands alone: lift.
- h: start on the baseline and climb in one long undercurve to the headline, loop left, and come straight down to the baseline. Retrace up the stem a little more than halfway to the midline, roll over one rounded hump, and finish with a small upturn.
- a: from the h's upturn, start at the top right of the oval, pull left and down, close the oval at the midline, and come straight down to the baseline with a short upturn.
- n: slant down to the baseline, retrace up, roll over one rounded hump at the midline, slant down to the baseline, and end with a short undercurve.
- k: climb to the headline, loop left, and slant straight down to the baseline. Retrace up the stem to just below the midline, swing out to the right in a small closed buckle that pinches back against the stem, then kick the leg down and right to the baseline with a short undercurve.
- s: undercurve up to a small rounded point just above the midline, come down the right side in a bulging curve to the baseline, tuck back left toward the upstroke, then go right along the bottom and curve up to exit.
- g: start on the right side of the oval at the midline. Move left over the top, down, around, and back up to close the oval. Slant straight down along its right side, through the baseline, to the descender line. Loop left at the bottom, cross the stem just under the baseline, and exit up to the right.
- i: from the g's exit, start at the midline, slant straight down to the baseline, round off, and swing up to the right to exit. The dot comes last.
- v: start at the midline, slant down to the baseline, round the bottom, and climb back to the midline. Make a small curl and flick right along the midline; the next letter attaches there without dipping to the baseline.
- i: the second i is the same: down from the midline to the baseline, round off, swing up to exit. The dot comes last.
- n: slant down to the baseline, retrace up, roll over one rounded hump at the midline, slant down, and end with a short undercurve.
- g: close the oval at the midline, slant down through the baseline to the descender line, loop left, and cross the stem just under the baseline. The g ends the phrase.
- Lift the pen and dot the first i, the one after the g, a little above the midline over its stem.
- Dot the second i, the one after the v. That is the last lift.
Two capitals that stand alone
Both capitals here are built from separate strokes, and neither connects to the letter after it. The H is a wave and a left stem, a right stem, and a flat crossbar loop at the midline that runs across both. The T is a stem with a small hook at the foot, then a flat bar written last across the top. After each capital, lift and start the next letter fresh on its own: the a after the H, the h after the T. Leave an even gap rather than forcing a join.
Four descenders and two tall letters
Happy has two p's and a y that drop below the baseline, and Thanksgiving adds a g, so four letters in the phrase go down. Keep their loops the same length and slant. The g is the only descender in the second word: it closes its oval at the midline, drops through the baseline, loops left, and rises into the i. Going up, the h and the k reach the headline, so they and the T are the tall letters of the second word.
The run from h to g
After the T, Thanksgiving is one joined stroke from the h to the final g. The h climbs to the headline and rolls over a single hump. The k follows with a small closed buckle at the midline, and the s closes its belly before its upturn. Then comes the g, then i, v, i, n and g. Write the whole phrase first, then go back and dot both i's; the first dot belongs to the i after the g, the second to the i after the v.

Happy Thanksgiving in cursive: questions
How do you write Happy Thanksgiving in cursive?
Two words with two capitals that stand alone. Write the H, lift, and join a, p, p and y. Lift for the space, write the T, lift, and join h through g to the end. Dot the two i's last: eight lifts in all.
Does the cursive capital H connect to the a?
No. The H ends on its crossbar, and the a starts fresh just to its right. Leave a small, even gap rather than forcing a join.
Does the cursive capital T connect to the h?
No. The T is a stem with a hook and a separate flat bar, and it ends there. The h starts on its own on the baseline.
How many pen lifts are there in Happy Thanksgiving?
Eight: three around the H, one for the space, two around the T, and one for each of the two i dots.

All in lowercase and joined: t, h, a, n, k, f, u, l. The f drops below the baseline and climbs back up, and the t is crossed after the word.
Can I copy and paste Happy Thanksgiving in cursive?
Yes. The copy box gives you Unicode script text for a caption or card. It is a font style, not joined handwriting, so the letters will not connect the way the picture does.
