Merry christmas in cursive
Merry Christmas in cursive starts with a capital M and a capital C that both join the next letter. The M's last hump flows into the e, and the C's lower curve carries into the h. The pen lifts for the space between words, the i dot, and the t cross. The y in Merry drops below the baseline.

Capitals that connect
Unlike some capitals, the cursive M and C both join. In the image, the M's third stroke comes down to the baseline and swings up into the e without a break. The C opens at the top, curls around, and leaves the baseline heading into the tall h loop. Keep the M's humps the same height, just under the headline, so the word does not look lopsided.
The double r in Merry
Merry has two r's back to back, which is where most people slow down. Traditional cursive uses an r with a small shoulder at the midline: go up past the midline, make a tiny flat step, then drop to the baseline. Do it twice with the same spacing, then go into the y. If the r's look like n's, the step is too round. Keep it short and flat.
Pen lifts in Christmas
Christmas has one i and one t, so plan two lifts. Write the whole word first, then dot the i and cross the t. There are also two s's, one after the i and one at the end. Each s rises to a small point just above the midline, then curves down and closes back at the baseline. Keep both the same size so the end of the word does not trail off.
Writing it on cards and tags
On cards and gift tags, space is usually tight, so write Merry Christmas small once to test the width. Pencil a baseline so the long word stays level, and make sure the y loop in Merry has room above anything written below it. If you want the look without the handwriting, the Unicode text on this page pastes as a font, not connected cursive.
